About Remaining Things
Remaining Things came from a need to find cool and beautiful clothes for the long, hot and often humid Australian summers. At Remaining Things, I endeavour to make uncomplicated clothes that are breathable and make you feel good, without compromising elegance. The brand sprang from a personal desire to own less clothing, and instead have more well made pieces from quality fabric, ones that would last longer and be a joy to wear.
After frequent requests from strangers and friends about the availability of my clothes, I decided to make these pieces for other people. Pieces that make the wearer feel beautiful. And pieces that will last because they are made thoughtfully using quality fabrics. Pieces that take time to make but are worth the investment.
Each piece is cut and hand made in Australia once your order is placed. This means there will be a lead time of 7-14 days within Australia. Garments are made with care (and a fair bit of enjoyment) in a small studio on Bundjalung country in northern NSW. Consequently, I order small fabric runs and make garments in limited numbers. There is no outsourcing and no production line of mass manufacturing. Only natural fabrics are used because of their breathability and because they are better for the environment.
Remaining Things is a micro business and produces only a few garments per week. Because of our size, I only order minimums of fabrics to produce a limited number of items, therefore, regrettably some of your chosen items may not be available. Please keep this in mind when ordering.
I read somewhere that if you are thinking about purchasing an item, you need to believe you will get at least 30 wears out of your new piece to justify its production and purchase. Through Remaining Things I hope I may encourage you to buy less but buy better.
Remaining Things seeks to dress a woman who is comfortable within herself and knows what she wants. She has arrived in a place in her life where she knows she does not need to follow fashion to feel comfortable. She cherishes certain pieces of clothing and wears them for many seasons.
